In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Altoona; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Pennsylvania are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Beef=very good Sandwich=okay When I inquired about a pit beef sandwich, no one knew what it was. I explained that you oftentimes see them at roadside stands. A person not waiting on me declared, "Well, you're not at a roadside". I am 66 yo and considering I didn't drive through the front door to order, Captain Obvious could have bit her tongue. The sandwich was just okay because it was served on a hamburger bun. Beef sandwiches require something more thick and robust, a kaiser maybe, or you get to clean your shirt. Lastly, no horseradish on site. Shameful. I hadn't finished my question, so I didn't get to elaborate; I was giving a large geographic reference to then narrow down the options. They were referenced for having "pit beef" sandwiches but knew nothing when questioned. My view hasn't changed but I have some advice to give - Google it for yourself or alter the advertising for it.

Excellent pulled pork and pulled chicken with a nice variety of sauces. We chose 4 sides, and each on its own was greatβ€”mac & cheese, green beans, cole slaw, and fries. Our server (Nova) was friendly & professional, even though I asked a lot of questions. We will absolutely be back.

Best BBQ in the USA. Yes I said that because Ive been across the USA and have experienced many places. Im a trucker and a foodie. SO lets talk about it.... 1. Service was superb! Friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. 2. Food...seasoned well, flavorful even without sauce which makes for a good bbq, amount was plenty. The bowl was filling. Chose brisket and pork to try. Ribs were delicious and fell off the bone. But lets talk about the star CHICKEN WINGS!!! Finding a good crispy not dried out wing is hard to do. But OC found the secret!!! 3. Price....very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Keep doing what you all do!!! We will be back!
